Autumn update: Sign up for a veg box, come volunteer, plus salad boxes for cafes/restaurants
What a year it's been so far, our second year doing the veg boxes on the farm has proven to be a much more challenging time, what with the weather in particular!
That said, the veg has been solid, the volunteers great, the new lambs are thriving, the donkeys are doing well - and we are in full preparation now for the Christmas veg boxes.
So what's the latest news we hear you ask? Below we’ve put together some updates for you.
Sign up to a weekly/fortnight veg box
We’ve got a limited number of slots available now for our in-conversion to organic veg boxes opening up. Head over to https://vegbox.shybynaturefarm.ie/boxes where you can sign up, and choose the options to suit your needs. The summer veg box will run somewhere towards the end of October, depending on what happens with the weather!
Alongside your veg box, you can also get a number of add ons: including healthy and tasty microgreens from Jaime at The Growhouse in Rossnowlagh, delicious homemade breads from Thomas of The Sustainable Landuse Company in Glenties, plus handmade wreaths - using fresh flowers, herbs, grasses, and wild plants - made by Ines of Anois Handcraft in Glenties.

Volunteer days - Saturdays 5 and 19 October
With Autumn upon us, there is lots to do in the garden and we are looking forward to welcoming local volunteers, new and old, to join us and our international volunteers here on the farm.
Upcoming dates are Saturdays 5 and 19 October. Starting from 10am, we tend to take on a fun task for the day - to suit different capacities and abilities - and have a wholesome home cooked lunch with veg from the garden. Are you a restaurant, cafe or business looking for salad boxes or parsley?
We offer a range of salad boxes - and now also flat leaf or curly parsley - to local businesses in south Donegal. The boxes are harvested freshly and keep well for over a week, plus are super tasty, always with a variety of seasonal salad leaves.
