Spring is arriving - come join us for tree planting on Saturday 16 & 30 March

We’ve just begun sowing seeds here for this year’s veg boxes and are looking forward to welcoming some new lambs to soon join our Galway sheep and the donkeys. So, it’s time to begin our volunteer days again - we can’t wait to see some of you again, and welcome new folks.

On Saturday 16 and 30 March we’d like to invite you to join us for some tree planting and caretaking of trees planted in the last few years.  All levels welcome - whether you love planting trees in your spare time or whether you are a first timer. If there is time, we also will be sowing some ‘no dig’ potatoes too, and if the weather turns terrible, we can do stuff in the tunnel!

On trees, this year we are creating new hedges, shelterbelts and a riparian zone, planting around 2,000 native Irish trees (including hawthorn, rowan, hazel, whitethorn, blackthorn, oak and more..) - some of which have been kindly provided to us by the people at Trees on the Land (https://www.treesontheland.com). Plus we will be starting a new orchard with some heritage apple trees.
