500 veg boxes this season! That’s a wrap ;)

Super happy to be able to say that our 20 week veg box pilot has been a great success. We grew, tended to and harvested the contents of more than 500 veg boxes from 16 June to 27 October.

Thanks to the support of all our customers, volunteers, family, collection box locations, friends and neighbours. Together we have been able to improve - on a small scale - community health in south Donegal by widening access to regenerative, in conversion to organic, vegetables. Still can't quite believe it, that's a lot of kilos for an experiment!

We also delivered 50 veg boxes to the Bluestack Special Needs Foundation who redistributed them to families they support. Thank you to those that sponsored boxes for the season, or who donated their boxes while they were on holiday.

Plus thank you to local restaurants who’ve been taking our salad boxes including Corby Pantry and Tearoom in Ardara, Simple Simon’s, Old Stone and Quay West in Donegal Town. Very grateful for your support.

Plus it's been great to be able to offer homemade bread from The Sustainable Landuse Company in Glenties in the boxes too. Non nom.

Thank you to all that came to help us celebrate last weekend, and thank you to Donegal News and Donegal Democrat for the articles. It is deeply appreciated.

Now it is time to reflect and learn, and prepare for what comes next! If you are interested in volunteering or veg boxes in future, do email us on shybynaturefarm@gmail.com
